In the words of world-renowned African author Zakes Mda, 'the best stories are told around the bonfire – African-style'. Here are some Africa-inspired productions taking centre stage on Kwesé TV in the month of March: I Remember Me premiers on 14 March at 19:10 CAT on Fox Life (Ch 185). This docu-series for the ladies explores the dynamics and simplicities of growing up in a township, giving a fresh perspective on what it means to be a township girl.

The new series Wrath, on AMC Series (Ch 145) is for the high-stakes, high-drama lover. Premiering on Tuesday 13 March at 22:00 CAT, in double bill episodes this series starts off as a love story but nothing about it is romantic. A young couple from completely different backgrounds get their mothers tangled in a murder case. While the one mother is determined to keep her son out of jail, the other is just as determined to avenge her daughter’s death.

Jikulumessu, weekdays at 19:00 CAT on Kwesé Family (Ch 110), is an International Emmy-Award nominated series about a young man who has scores to settle with the people who ill-treated him as a young boy. Now that he is a successful businessman, with all the resources possible to put his plans in motion, his displeasure will be felt by those who dared cross him. But, when an unexpected damsel steals his attention, will she be distraction enough to keep him from destruction?

The president is the last point of authority in any state, sometimes! But in Karombe, the president is dead – so long live the greed! Kingmakers, Mondays at 21:00 CAT is an intense drama-series on Kwesé Prime (Ch 100) and showcases where the lines become blurred between African presidencies and dynasties. The Western world is ready to pounce on the country’s mineral resources, but the scavengers within have a pouncing plan of their own. The monstrous battle for leadership begins and may the forces be with anyone who stands in the way of the kingmakers' succession plans!

Madiba, Thursdays at 20:30 CAT on Kwesé Prime (Ch 100) is a depiction of Nelson Mandela's life and legacy. The whole world knows his struggles, but not the man. This series portrays a young boy, born into a chieftaincy and groomed for leadership, awakening to the realities surrounding him in a country much bigger than what he fathomed. What stirs deep within him determines the quality of his life and fast-tracks him to his purpose. He soon finds himself becoming ever more committed to the African National Congress, which puts strain on his marriage. This is the story of the troublemaker, the fighter, the unifier, the legacy of the world icon, today known as Madiba!

We end the journey with My Africa, Sundays at 19:30 CAT on Kwesé Prime, taking you through the most interesting African cities and exhibiting their unique propositions. See the colour, hear the beat, learn the lingo and dance to the rhythm of a revolutionary Africa!
