Kwesé TV Steps Up Its Retail Distribution with Furnmart Partnership

Pan-African broadcast network Kwesé TV, has concluded a milestone agreement with Furnmart in Botswana. Kwesé TV, a provider of premium and exclusive sports and general entertainment content has partnered with the furniture retail giant to distribute Kwesé's Direct-To-Home (DTH) hardware and collect subscriptions through the retailer's network.

This deal gives Kwesé TV access to Furnmart’s retailer distribution network of 49 stores across Botswana. Furnmart as a trusted and well-known brand in the southern African region, sells furniture, appliances and entertainment products in Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Kwesé TV’s comprehensive general entertainment and sports offering ensures that everyone in the family is entertained. With over 70 channels, which include news channels, faith-based channels, movies and series, viewers are spoilt for choice with Kwesé TV. The partnership comes on the cusp of the world’s biggest sporting event, the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Kwesé Sports will be broadcasting all 64 games live in full HD, offering expert commentary and analysis on all games.

“This partnership with Furnmart will ensure that we continue to grow the Kwesé brand across Botswana and Africa. More people will be able to watch some of the best TV can offer as well as pay subscriptions with ease,” General Manager Kwesé TV Botswana Goaba Kgosana said of the new partnership.

Customers can get a decoder at all Furnmart outlets for only P510, inclusive of decoder, dish, standard installation and one month’s subscription. To continue to watch all content, subscriptions can still be paid over the counter at Furnmart for P295 per month, P88 for 7 days and P65 for 3 days.

Kwesé TV's satellite service has been available across a number of Sub-Saharan Africa markets since the beginning of 2017. With the addition of the Furnmart retail network to the broadcaster’s distribution chain, the company is bringing the Kwesé brand closer to Batswana.
