Guide to this month’s Kwesé Prime line-up

11:00 SAST | 30 Jan 2017

Kwesé Prime (Ch 100) offers you a great blend of lifestyle and entertainment. Book a front row seat for shows as diverse and interesting as Project Runway: Fashion Startup and The Jim Gaffigan Show.

Project Runway gives entrepreneurs a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have their business funded by a major fashion and beauty sponsor. After pitching to a panel of notable investors, the investors either ‘pass’ on the presentation, ‘make an offer, or send the entrepreneur on a ‘road test’. Don’t miss the emotional and inspiring rollercoaster that is Project Runway: Fashion Start-up (Fridays at 19:00 CAT).

What would happen if a survival reality show turned into a real struggle for survival? That’s the premise of Siberia (Fridays at 22:30 CAT), where 14 reality contestants find themselves trapped in the wilderness struggling to survive.

Juliette Lewis has made a name for herself in films like Natural Born Killers and What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. Now she stars in a detective series, Secrets and Lies (Thursdays at 21:30 CAT), where she plays Detective Andrea Cornell. The series also features another well-known film-star, Ryan Phillippe. For intrigue, forensics, and great acting don’t miss Secrets and Lies on Kwesé Prime.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to grow up with a famous parent, then Growing Up Hip Hop (Wednesdays, 21:30 CAT) is for you. It follows the lives of children of hip-hop stars, who must struggle to step out from the shadow of their parents. They’ve got the name and now they must earn the fame.

Bringing up five children in New York City is no joke…unless you’re Jim Gaffigan, in which case it makes for great comedic material. The Jim Gaffigan Show (Fridays, 20:00 CAT) is a comedy series inspired by Gaffigan’s real-life struggles to balance family life with a stand-up comedy career.
